What about a for sale board?

We think I Am The Agent 'For Sale' or 'To Let' boards are a must! We predict you will get 70% more enquiries from the sign, so it's a great investment. You would be surprised how many passers-by see our striking board!

How do you put it up and where does it go? Here is a guide (it's a lot easier then it sounds - we promise :).)
This is a general guide as each property will vary. If you have any reservations about your own ability to erect your board yourself, we strongly recommend that you employ the services of a professional carpenter. We accept no responsibility for any injuries or damage caused by erecting the sign.

Using I Am The Agent letting and sale boards is a very effective way of marketing your property. Our professionally made property boards are an excellent form of local advertising. Be sure to erect them in a clear position that will alert all prospective tenants and buyers to your property. Our clearly marked website address will give potential tenants the opportunity to view your property online and find out more information before making further enquiries.

  • To erect your board, you will need 2 x 2-inch wood screws and washer (may be included). You will need the following tools: a drill, screwdriver, saw, cable-ties or fence-wire and some paint.
  • Find a suitable post to fix your board to. You can buy a post from most DIY stores. The ideal size is approximately 50mm x 50mm x 2.1m, though size is not critical. If you have a coat of paint it will look much more attractive and helps protect the post against the elements
  • If you are going to drive your post into the ground, you will need to cut the end to a point before you fix the board (your DIY store may be able to do this for you).
  • To fix the board, hold the edge flush with the edge of the post and near the top (the white margin of the board against the post). Drill a pilot hole through the board and into the post about an inch from the edge and the top of the board.
  • Fix the board to the post with a wood screw. We recommend using a suitable washer such as a cup-washer with a countersunk screw to prevent the board being pulled over the screw head. Ensure the board is flush to the post before tightening the screw.
  • Repeat steps 5 and 6 at the bottom of the board and about half way down. Leaving a small space between the board and the top of the post will help to prevent damage to the board if you choose to hammer the post into the ground.
  • You can drive your post into soil or secure it to an existing fencepost or both. Use cable-ties or fencing wire to fix to a post in 2 or 3 places. If using wire, be sure that no sharp ends are left protruding.
  • Position your board in good view and clearly indicating that it is your property that is for sale. Be careful that it does not extend over the boundaries of your property or cause a hazard to passers-by.
  • I Am The Agent have specially designed 'sold' stickers rather then fussy slips, so when you have sold your property make sure you add it to your board.
