Renowned singer Amy Winehouse’s London house goes under the auctioneers hammer today, 3rd December 2012.
The beautiful semi-detached three bedroom Camden townhouse has been put up for auction with a recommended price tag of £1,8m. Located in one of London’s wealthiest residential areas, the house failed to sell last May when Amy’s family decided to put it on the market at £2.7m. This time round however, the auction price is expected to escalate from its minimum £1.8m price tag. As London property experts, Greenwich estate agency I Am The Agent is confident the asking price will be met and suggests the value of the final sale may well determine the value of the area.
Taking place at Bafta HQ in London’s Piccadilly, proceeds from the sale will be going towards to the Amy Winehouse Foundation that works to prevent the effects of drug and alcohol misuse on young people.
The house has already been viewed by several potential buyers with a couple of offers falling through due to lack of funds. Some viewers were also thought to be handful of curious fans posing as property seekers leading the current owners to settle on an auction as the simplest way to sell the house.
Interestingly, the house has not been listed as the singer’s previous home in the auction catalogue. Its description is kept merely to its well sought after location and highly modernized interior.
